Helping you enjoy safe travel, Student Health Service provides travel medicine appointments to students who are traveling aboard for school or pleasure.  Before you travel, schedule a travel medicine appointment with the Student Health Services physician 6 weeks  prior to departure to ensure proper protection and you are prepared for your trip.

  • Schedule an appointment with the physician by calling 314-362-3523.
  • Must allow a minimum of four weeks prior to your departure in order to have enough time for all vaccinations to be completed.
  • Travel appointments, medication and vaccines related to travel are are not covered outside of Student Health Service.

Travel appointments less than 4 weeks prior to departure will NOT be permitted and not covered by Student Health Service.  Student Health Services will cover 20% of the cost for required medications when seen by Student Health physician, the student is responsible for the remaining cost. If the student’s program is sponsoring the travel, the student’s medication expenses may be able to be added to the grant or travel budget.

Student Health provides you access to a medical evacuation and repatriation services through GeoBlue offered in coordination with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield to all WUSM full-time medical students on the medical campus traveling abroad.

Students engaged in educational activities abroad can purchase sufficient coverage by self-enrollment online using a credit card at the GeoBlue Students page by using Washington University’s group access code KXW-37937.
